Two containers carrying about 100 pieces for doors and windows of the Nepal Pavilion arrived at the Expo site yesterday afternoon.

They were carved by more than 350 skilled Nepali families over the past two and a half years.

It usually takes 20 to 25 days for four to five craftsmen to carve a door or window, said a pavilion designer identified as Mool.

The traditional carving has passed through generations since the 13th century, he said. About 200 similar pieces will be used for the pavilion.
